1 Information We Collect

We collect only the essential information needed to provide you with the best MHT-CET preparation experience.

A. Personal Information

When you sign up, we collect:

  • Name and Surname: To personalize your profile and AI interactions.
  • Email Address: Used for OTP verification during login and account recovery.
  • CET Group: Your stream (PCM or PCB) to filter relevant content and mock tests.

B. Input Data for Tools (Estimators & Smart Match)

Rank & Category Data: When you use the "Smart Match," "Rank Estimator," or "Percentile Predictor," you may input data like your marks, rank, or caste category (Open, OBC, SC, etc.).

We do not permanently associate your caste/category selection with your user profile. This data is used transiently (in the moment) to generate your prediction results.

C. Chat & AI Data

  • Chat Logs: When you interact with our dedicated "ChatLLM," your text inputs are processed to generate answers.
  • Name Sharing: To provide a personalized experience, your First Name is sent to our AI service provider so the AI can address you personally.

2 How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Authenticate You: Verify your identity via Email OTP.
  • Provide Features: Deliver mock tests, PYQ analysis, and college predictions based on your Group (PCM/PCB).
  • Process Subscriptions: Manage your access to premium features (Mock Analysis, Smart Match, etc.) based on your subscription status.
  • Improve Services: Analyze app performance (crashes/bugs) to improve stability.

3 Sharing of Information (Third Parties)

We do not sell your personal data. However, we share necessary data with trusted third-party service providers to function:

AI Service Providers

We currently use OpenRouter (and/or OpenAI) to power our ChatLLM. When you ask a question, your query and your first name are processed by these providers to generate a response.

Payment Gateways

We use secure third-party payment processors for subscriptions. PrepCET does not store your credit card, debit card, or UPI details on our servers.

OTP Services

Your email is shared with our email delivery partner solely to send you the verification OTP.

4 Subscription & Payments

Freemium Model

The PrepCET Home page is free to access.

Premium Access

Advanced features (Estimators, Detailed Analysis, etc.) require a one-time subscription.

Validity

Subscriptions are valid for a specific academic duration (e.g., until the end of the CET season). Please note that after the subscription period ends, access to premium features is revoked.

Your payment information is handled securely by third-party processors and is never stored on our servers.

5 Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. Your password/OTP interactions are encrypted, and we restrict access to personal data to authorized personnel only.

Your security is paramount to us. We use encryption for all sensitive data transmissions.

6 Your Rights

Access & Correction

You can view and edit your profile details (Name, Group) within the app.

Deletion

If you wish to delete your account and data, please contact us at team@prepcet.in.

We respect your privacy rights. You can request access, modification, or deletion of your personal data at any time.

7 Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as we introduce new features (like switching AI providers). We will notify you of any significant changes through the app.
